How AI and voice work

Pebbles is an AI learning helper. It can make mistakes. It is not a person, an assessor or an emergency service.
For children

When online voice is enabled, a short recording is sent away from the device to help recognise the words. You can read and use touch activities without it.
For parents
Online audio, online text help, optional local observations and cloud summaries are separate choices. Manage them for each child in Learning. AI responses are bounded to learning tasks and checked before release. Unavailable checks stop generated output or select a fixed response. These measures reduce risk; they cannot guarantee every AI result is correct.
The app has a stop control. It does not offer a private human counsellor, diagnose a learning disability, arrange contact or take purchases and other actions for a child. Online AI can be disabled centrally. Unscored practice does not invent a reading result.
If a response worries you
Stop the activity and use Help to report it. A trusted adult can help you decide what to do next. Reports are not an emergency response, and the app must not promise that a person is watching a conversation.
